Today we tried carrots for the first time. Mommy was a little nervous since Alivia hasn't been real crazy about the sweet potatoes. Well mommy and daddy think she liked the carrots a little bit better than the sweet potatoes. We will see how our second day goes tomorrow. Hopefully we will find at least one vegetable she likes. We are also going to try squash this week and then next week green beans! I am sure Alivia can't wait until we get to try fruits...YUM!! Carrots were a little more messy than sweet potatoes so the picture was kind of funny! :)

Play Date!
Today we had a play date with Makena and Claire. Makena is my friend, Jenn's baby and Claire is my friend, Amy's baby. Makena is 8 weeks old and Claire is 9 weeks old today. Alivia loved "showing off" how she rolls around all over the place. She can't wait for Makena and Claire to start rolling over too so they can roll together. We had a such a great day today and played so hard that Alivia didn't even have to "cry it out" for her afternoon nap. It was only an hour and 15 minute nap but it was so nice just to lay her down without crying. Mommy needs to wear her out more during the day and maybe that will help her be more sleepy for afternoon naps. We can't wait for our next play date with Makena and Claire next Wednesday at Amy's house. They are going to be best buddies! :)

Exploring New Toys
Today we got out a few new toys to help keep Alivia entertained. She is quite on the go these days and loves to play all of the time. We are trying to play, play, play so she is all tired out and takes her afternoon naps a bit better. She is growing up so...fast!
Watching all the fish swim in the water. She
kept hitting them with her hands. Too Cute!
Loving all the animal noises it makes...see how
big her eyes are!! Cutie Pie!
Saying "aghoo" to the dog in the mirror! :)

Sweet Potatoes
Today mommy decided that sweet potatoes would be the first vegetable to try. To our surprise she liked it better than we thought she would. She still isn't real sure about how to eat with a spoon (she sticks out her tongue at every bite..:) but we are going to eat them all week and then try carrots next week...yeh! Mommy isn't a big vegetable eater so hopefully Alivia doesn't take after her mommy in that aspect. Mommy can't wait until we get to the fruits...YUM!! Here is a funny picture of her orange face below! :)

4 Months Old and More Favorite Things
Alivia has a lot of new favorite things she likes right now. She loves to practice sitting up like a big girl in our leather chair, sitting in her bumbo seat with the play tray on it, a light up ball that talks and sings to her, playing on her tummy and a little bunny that she enjoys chewing on and sleeping with. Here are the pictures below!! :)

New Favorite Things
Alivia has been growing so much everyday and has some favorite things that she likes. She loves to kick her little tiny feet while mommy and daddy are holding her, sleep with her bunny during nap time and chewing on a teether ring. She has been getting a tooth on the top but it keeps going up and down so the teether ring is helping. Also, her bunny is her most favorite thing that her babysitter, Traci, gave to her. Thanks Traci! She loves to take it with her in the car and sleep with it. We have been working really hard at independent nap time where she goes to sleep on her own so the bunny and the rainforest soother on her bed has really helped. Mommy and Daddy hate listening to her "cry it out" for nap time but we know in the long run it will help her go to sleep on her own. Luckily, Alivia has always gone to sleep on her own at night so we are so fortunate for that. Today she fell asleep on her own for her morning nap after 10 minutes and slept for 3 hours...yeh!!!! What a big girl!
4 Month Check-Up
Today Alivia had her 4 month check-up. Dr. Powell said she was one of the most active 4 month olds he had ever seen...ha, ha! She weighed 11 lbs 14 oz. and was in the 20th percentile for weight. Her height was 23 1/4 inches and her head circumference was 40 cm. She is in the 25th percentile for height and head circumference. We also get to start on veggies once she gets used to the cereal. We will probably start veggies sometime next week, fun, fun! Once she gets all the veggies down we will then start on fruits, the good stuff! Dr. Powell said it is very important for her to get used to the veggies first instead of the fruits so she will be a good vegetable eater. We will see. I can't wait to see her face when we feed her veggies for the first time. Don't worry, I will capture all of those pictures. Overall, she had a great check-up and we are so excited to see her grown everyday. She has a few new toys that are her favorites so I will take some updated pictures of her playing soon. :)
