Will's First Bottle- 5 Weeks Old

Tonight I had to meet my friend Cassie to finish our very LAST project for class. We are officially done and I couldn't be more happier about it!! Anyway, I fed Will right before I left so I could spend a few hours with Cassie. He always takes a long time to eat so I fed him for almost an hour so he would be good and full for Ben since we hadn't started bottles yet. He didn't really eat very good because he kept falling asleep. He is really good at that. ha! Needless to say Will had his first screaming hour since I wasn't home. Of course, I texted Ben to see how everything was going and he said great. He would never tell me to rush home. Such a good husband and daddy. I felt so bad when I cam home and he had been screaming for an hour. I then decided to pump and have Alivia give him his first bottle so that if I was every gone again this wouldn't happen. Will absolutely LOVED the bottle and drank the entire 4 oz in nothing flat. Alivia loved feeding him as well. He normally gets ups 2 or 3 times to eat when I breastfeed him before bed but after the bottle he only got up once during the night. I think the bottle was much easier for him to take so he was able to finish the entire thing. Glad he likes the bottle. I just hope he continues to breastfeed well too. I would like to have a good balance of both. I do like knowing that the bottle made him more full though because I know there are times when he falls asleep that he is not full and then he is hungrier sooner. We are proud of our growing boy. He is outgrowing his newborn clothes too because he is so long. What a big boy!!

Swimming Lessons

This year Alivia has started off quite timid of the water so we decided to put her in swimming lessons at the Grain Valley Community Center. I hadn't planned on doing this since the last 2 years she has LOVED the water but for some reason being 3 brought her timidness. The first day of lessons didn't go very well so the teacher suggested that we switch her to the class before hers that had more girls in it since her class was all boys. The last couple days have been much better and she has listened to her teacher and done everything she was supposed to do. She continues her lessons next week so hopefully we will be over our timidness at the end of the session. LOVE YOU brave girl. Keep up the good work. We are proud of you.....

1 Month Old

Today Will is 1 Month Old! This month has flown by. He has changed so much already and is growing so so fast. Alivia and Will are quite different as far as their eating habits go. Alivia had lots of trouble breast feeding and gaining weight and ended up having to go on a special formula. So far Will is doing great with breast feeding and is gaining weight great. He is getting up at 12:00 and 3:00 to eat and then usually gets up at 6:00. Alivia only got up once in the night when she was a baby so I know Will is definitely a growing boy and needs to eat. I think he is also going through a growth spurt right now. We are so blessed with our precious baby boy. I can't wait for his 2 month check up in a few weeks to see how much he weights. I am so glad he is healthy and eating so well!!! Here is a picture of Alivia at 1 month as well. I don't really see a resemblance. We will see!!  :)

Family Fun Outside

We have had a lot of fun outside playing this week. Alivia and I were in need of some fun in the sun!! On Thursday and Friday we spent the day at my parents house. They have this perfect pool for Alivia and she loves it! Will did great taking a nap and then joined us on the deck in his bouncy seat. We had a great time relaxing. On Saturday Ben and I got the slip n slide out for Alivia to play in. This was her first time playing on it. Our pool has a hole in it so I thought we would use this for a while for some water fun. She liked it a lot but was a little too timid to run and slide like her daddy. ha! Oh how I love summer! I am looking forward to being fully recovered from the delivery so I can go to the pool really soon. It has been so hard for me not to go to the pool. Hopefully soon!!! :)

First Dance Recital

This weekend was Alivia's first dance recital. Ben and I were so proud of her. When she practiced at the studio she was very timid but I think all she needed was her costume and make-up because she was quite the performer. We were so proud! I think it is also safe to say that Ben enjoyed the father daughter dance as well. I think he likes the stage just as much as I did when I danced. ha!!! Will was such a trooper sleeping in his carrier all day Saturday during the rehearsal and only had to get out once on Sunday during the 3 hour recital. I can't wait to tell him when he is older that he was 2 weeks old when he sat through his sister's first dance recital. Overall, it was such a fantastic weekend. I really enjoyed being able to see some of the little dancers at my studio grow into such wonderful dancers. I also loved seeing my dance teachers. It brought back great memories for me! :)
